United Airlines is making it easier to get to Rome next summer, adding the first-ever nonstop flight to the "Eternal City" from Denver.

The new flight, which is part of eight new nonstop flights the carrier will add from Denver International Airport (DEN) next year, will launch on May 1, 2025, and operate daily on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, United shared with Travel + Leisure. The new route will operate through Sept. 24, 2025.

“United’s continued commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience in Denver is underscored by these new routes and the nearly $1 billion in investments we have made to enhance the customer experience and bring greater convenience,” Jonna McGrath, the vice president of United’s Denver hub, said in a statement shared with T+L. “As Denver’s hometown airline, we’re proud to offer more destinations than any other carrier, giving Colorado residents and travelers passing through Denver unmatched flexibility and options to explore the destinations they want to visit most.”

With the addition of Rome, the airline said it will operate flights to more than 20 international destinations from Denver, complimenting its current year-round daily flights to London and Frankfurt, as well as its service to Munich.

In addition, United said it will launch several other nonstop flights from the Mile High city starting in the spring, including once daily flights to Buffalo, NY, Pensacola, FL, North Bend, OR, Peoria, IL, Redding, CA, and Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada. The airline will also launch flights starting May 24 on Saturdays from Denver to Wilmington, NC.

In total, the carrier said it plans to fly nonstop to more than 160 U.S. and more than 20 international destinations from Denver.

The new routes come as United plans to roll out free Wi-Fi next year and has introduced a tap-to-pay feature so passengers can use their mobile phones to pay for items on board.
