Your Alaska Airlines miles just got a lot more rewarding for a getaway this winter.

“Use your miles to discover the frost-filled charms of winter wonderlands around the world,” the airline shared about the promotion on its website. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Oneworld alliance, enjoy 50 percent off award travel to snowy destinations in Europe, Canada, and Central Asia.”

This mileage sale is offered every quarter with new destinations where Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members can enjoy discounted award redemptions on the carrier and its vast network of international partners. Travelers who book by Tuesday, Dec. 31, can score 50 percent off reward tickets for travel between Jan. 1 and April 30, 2025.

Travel + Leisure found these destinations available at the following one-way rates on Alaska’s website, available in economy or premium economy class:

  • U.S. to Kelowna, Canada: Starting at 10,000 miles
  • U.S. to Geneva and Zurich, Switzerland: Starting at 20,000 miles
  • U.S. to Vienna, Austria: Starting at 20,000 miles
  • U.S. to Almaty, Kazakhstan: Starting at 30,000 miles
  • U.S. to Yerevan, Armenia: Starting at 30,000 miles

In addition, travelers are responsible for paying the carrier and government-imposed taxes and fees at checkout, which start at $5.60 one-way for domestic flights and can exceed $100 for international flights.

Here’s a lesser-known tip about Alaska Airlines: On international one-way tickets, travelers can add one stopover in another city for up to 14 days or two stopovers on round-trip itineraries, all without increasing the mileage cost.

Using Alaska’s multi-city search tool, Travel + Leisure discovered a one-way ticket for 20,000 miles from New York (JFK) to Helsinki (HEL), followed by a second flight from Helsinki (HEL) to Geneva (GVA) a week later—effectively giving travelers two flights for the price of one.
