This feels absolutely bananas to say, but we are just mere weeks away from 2025. And it's high time you start plotting out those 2025 getaways. But if you're unsure where you'd like to go next, just take a peek at the top-trending destinations, according to Pinterest.

In early December, Pinterest dropped its annual Pinterest Predicts report, showcasing all the things the platform believes will be major trends in the year to come. While the report spans everything from food to decor, beauty, and party planning, it also highlights the travel trends that Pinterest users are showing greater interest in, leading its researchers to believe these could become major players. And for 2025, Pinterest says it's all about "peak" travel.

"Cities have totally peaked," Pinterest shared in its findings. "In 2025, mountain ranges will become the go-to travel destination as Gen Z and Gen X seek out treetop views and that fresh mountain air. Gear up for your next elevacation."

According to the platform, Portino, Chile, has seen the biggest spike in search, with a 255 percent increase year over year. It also highlighted the Dolomites, with a 45 percent year-over-year increase, and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, with an impressive 30 percent increase year over year. Naturally, with mountain getaways, "skiing fits" and "mountain trip" outfits have seen major spikes as well, and if you need more inspiration for that, just look to Travel + Leisure's ski coverage.

To help people lean even further into the trend, Pinterest announced it's teaming up with Marriott for a pop-up in New York City with a "Peak Travel Concierge." There, guests will be able to ask questions about what "peak travel" really means and learn more about locations that fit the trend. Guests can even enter to win trips to Cloudveil Jackson Hole and a Marriott Homes & Villas property of their choice to live out the trend in real life. But if you want to stop by, you better hurry — the activation only runs on Dec. 11 and 12 at 173 Elizabeth Street New York, New York.

And while technically, this trend forecast didn't fall under travel specifically, we'd be remiss not to mention that Pinterest is predicting a major come-up of "Castlecore," noting it's "a comeback

of the highest order." If you want to lean into that, we've got you covered there, too, with these 20 castles everyone should visit at least once in their lives.
