It’s a season of savings for travelers.
While Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be popular shopping holidays, travelers have turned their sights on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, which has been named ‘Travel Tuesday’, as a way to cash in on travel related promotions.
In celebration of the upcoming Travel Tuesday holiday, American Airlines has announced some of the special offers and discounts that can help take passengers around the world for less. The airline will also discount the purchase of miles in their frequent flyer program, American Airlines AAdvantage, for as much as 50 percent off between November 29 and December 2.
Even before Travel Tuesday, the airline shared with Travel + Leisure it has discounted dozens of flights under $200 round-trip, for immediate purchase while supplies last.
T+L spotted discounted, one-way fares including:
- Dallas (DFW) to New York (LGA) from $90
- Los Angeles (LAX) to New York (JFK) from $124
- Philadelphia (PHL) to Orlando (MCO) from $85
- Phoenix (PHX) to Miami (MIA) from $99
American Airlines executives shared that Travel Tuesday continues to grow in popularity as evidenced by industry data from McKinsey showing that airline bookings are a leading purchase choice on the day.
“Whether customers want to relax on a beach in South Caicos, spend time with a koala in Brisbane or take a golf trip with friends and family in Edinburgh, American’s expansive network is ready to indulge our travelers’ desires in 2025,” American’s Vice President of Communications and Marketing Caroline Clayton shared in a release.
For travelers looking to get a jumpstart on their Travel Tuesday plans and in need of a hotel, Hilton Hotels has launched a ‘Season to Stay Sale’ with 20 percent discounts on rooms, and Hyatt hotels has launched a ‘Season of Savings’ sale of their own with 20 percent discount when loyalty members use the code SAVENOW when booking.
