Fall road trip season is in full swing, and Amazon is making it easier to save on a leaf-peeping trip with a new gas offer for Prime members.
Going forward, Prime members can save 10 cents per gallon at BP, Amoco, and AMPM gas stations across the United States, Amazon shared with Travel + Leisure. To redeem the savings, travelers must first activate the offer in their Amazon accounts.
“We’re constantly looking to add more value for Prime members and perhaps the broadest and most popular additional benefit we could offer is fuel savings — we’re excited to give this to Prime members,” Jamil Ghani, the vice president of Amazon Prime, said in a statement shared with T+L, adding, “With free shipping on more than 300 million items, free access to remarkable video, sports, and music content, free food delivery, and substantial savings on grocery delivery and medications, Prime is an incredible value for members.”
To activate the offer, Amazon Prime members need to visit the company’s gas landing page online, login or create a free Earnify account, and connect the two accounts. Travelers then simply need to enter their phone number at the pump, use the Earnify app, or use their Earnify-linked payment method to pay for gas.
There is no minimum or maximum number of gallons required to save.
Next year, Amazon said it plans to add a new savings offer for electric vehicle charging with BP Pulse, the company’s charging arm. Details on that offer were not immediately available.
Currently, gas is averaging $3.16 nationwide, according to AAA, which tracks gas prices across the country. Overall, gas prices have been trending down since the summer.
Beyond gas, Amazon Prime members can save big with discounts available on everything from luggage and luggage tags to portable steamers, portable coolers, and more to make planning the ultimate getaway a breeze.
