Frontier Airlines is giving a salute to service.

The budget airline has a special Veterans Day promotion, with a 50 percent discount on base fares for active and retired Military, and military families.

Eligible service members can use the promotional code VETS for the airfare discounts on Frontier’s booking site. The fare sale runs through Sunday, October 27, and is valid on travel through December 18.

Travel + Leisure spotted a variety of discounted flights including:

  • Columbus, OH to Houston, TX for $145 roundtrip
  • San Antonio, TX to Boston, MA for $159 roundtrip
  • San Diego, CA to Washington, DC from $156 roundtrip

Travelers should be advised that the promotion has several restrictions on cities and dates that can be used, and it is not valid during peak travel times such as the Thanksgiving holiday week. The discount on base fares does not apply to any taxes or fees associated with the ticket.

Frontier is also offering a special opportunity for ten Veterans who share their story to win a $250 flight voucher, as part of a contest. An entry consists of sharing photos of themselves, and describing what being a Veteran means to them, through a submission form on Frontier’s website.

“It’s our privilege to honor those who have served,” Frontier Airlines Vice President of Marketing, Tyri Squyres said in the release.

In addition to Frontier, other airlines also provide military discounts. For example, United Airlines offers priority boarding, United Club access, and waives bag fees in many circumstances for active duty military. Delta Air Lines also provides special benefits for military, including discounts on Delta Vacation packages.

Hotel brands also offer discounts for Military and First Responders, such as a 15 percent discount at Marriott Vacation Club resorts throughout the United States and Caribbean using promotional code XYD.
